“HERstory” is a word recreated from “History”. By deconstructing “history” into “his-story” and rewriting it into “her-story”, we emphasize the necessity of narrating and writing history from a female perspective.
Gender bias remains a notable issue in many fields, including the contemporary art world. To explore a more inclusive, diverse and equal art scene, InterCulture invited three outstanding female artists to challenge long-standing norms, conduct intercultural dialogue and present new possibilities for women in art.
Each artist expresses unique visions with distinctive styles. Their works are empowered, wise and sensitive, showing pride in their female identity.
Charlotte Eschenlohr
Born in Munich, holds a doctorate in economics. She gave up her business management career to study under German neo-expressionist Markus Lüpertz and became a freelance artist. Her works blend figurative and abstract art with vibrant colors, collage and symbols.
Lizzie SU
Internationally renowned master florist, instructor and installation artist with 32 years of experience. Inspired by nature, the universe and philosophy, she has created floral designs for Boao Forum for Asia, Asian Games and other international events.
Violet LUO
Artist and curator who worked and studied in the Netherlands. She uses multimedia to explore the relationship between AI, human emotions and consciousness. Most works in this exhibition are created through human-computer interaction. Graduated from Central Saint Martins and Design Academy Eindhoven.
In times of pandemic and conflict, intercultural exchange is more important than ever. Art, as a non-verbal medium, uniquely inspires cross-cultural understanding. The artists share their stories, cultures and reflections on the times, offering comfort, peace and healing.
Guests are encouraged to wear outfits with flower elements. Five “Most Creative Outfit” winners will receive gifts from InterCulture.
Jury Expert: Aldaceli Veloso (International fashion, image and etiquette professional)
