HONOR Talents Art Tour

On 14th December 2023, the HONOR Talents Art Tour Exhibition officially opened on the second-floor platform of Canton Tower.

Jointly hosted by HONOR, InterCulture and Intellisia Institute, the event themed
Tech Meets Art – Inspire the Future.

Distinguished guests including Valerio de Parolis, Consul General of Italy in Guangzhou,
Suraya Ahmad Pauzi, Consul General of Malaysia in Guangzhou,
and Dr. Jasmin Gong, Co-founder of InterCulture, delivered opening speeches.

More than 180 guests attended the ceremony,
including consulate officials, government representatives,
cultural and tech enterprise leaders, artists, scholars and media representatives.

The event focused on the integration and symbiosis of contemporary art and technology,
which has always been a core focus of InterCulture’s cross-border exchange practice.

 

Guest Speeches

Valerio de Parolis, Consul General of Italy in Guangzhou, stated:
Creativity and culture are the richness of society and the spiritual expression of a nation and an era.
It is essential to cherish and promote intercultural dialogue,
and maintain a diverse, inclusive and peaceful social environment.

Supporting young international art talents helps develop their multidisciplinary abilities
and strengthens social responsibility,
while building bridges for ideological exchange between different civilizations.

Suraya Ahmad Pauzi, Consul General of Malaysia in Guangzhou, mentioned:
Malaysia has a long heritage of craftsmanship and design,
and art is a compulsory subject for students up to the age of 15.

In this HONOR Talents Global Design Competition,
Malaysian participants submitted over 500 works,
among which six won global awards and will be applied to HONOR product packaging and spatial design.

The year 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia.
Malaysia expects to deepen all-round cooperation in economy, trade, tourism, education and culture.

Dr. Jasmin Gong, Co-founder of InterCulture, addressed:
This is the fourth cooperation between InterCulture and HONOR Talents.

The global design competition builds an equal international platform
for young designers, creators and students worldwide.

It is difficult to build bridges between cultures.
We hope culture and business can jointly maintain smooth international communication channels,
and interdisciplinary & intercultural integration will become an inevitable future trend.

 

Award Ceremony

After the speeches, diplomatic guests and Dr. Jasmin Gong,
together with Xu Zhiyu, Senior Vice President of HONOR,
and Li Lei, Minister of Media Department,
presented awards to eight winners of the HONOR Talents Global Design Competition.

Two outstanding winners, Lucrezia Spapperi Gestri from Italy
and Nur Qistina Safia Binti Rosdi from Malaysia,
shared their creative concepts and personal insights.

Both young artists expressed that the competition offered a precious platform for creative expression
and cross-cultural communication with global young creators.

With Canton Tower shining brightly at night,
guests appreciated artworks from global contestants
and enjoyed live performances of jazz, Chinese folk music and Christmas melodies.

All participants celebrated the integration of art, technology and multiculturalism,
and raised glasses to welcome the upcoming new year.
