Sino-German Economic Summit Art Exhibition
On September 10, 2024, the international contemporary art exhibition "Happiness Accelerator", hosted by InterCulture and fully supported by the German Consulate General in Guangzhou and the German Chamber of Commerce (AHK), officially opened at the Sea World Culture and Arts Center in Shenzhen.
As the official cultural and art supporting section of the Sino-German Economic Summit (X-Days), the exhibition focused on the core themes of happiness, business, society and art. It brought together 15 top contemporary artists from China and Germany to explore in depth the diverse definitions of happiness, the value reconstruction of commercial society, and the social intervention of art in public spaces through various media such as painting, installation, video, sculpture and land art.
Breaking away from the traditional white cube exhibition mode of art museums, the exhibition placed artworks in public commercial spaces, allowing art to step out of the ivory tower and face the public, corporate executives and young urban groups directly, triggering reflections on happiness and the essence of life in daily scenarios.
The curatorial team was jointly composed of Dr. Jasmin Gong, founder of InterCulture, international artist HAO loman and senior curator Victor Wong. The participating artists included leading figures in German contemporary art such as Markus Schmitz and Fred Foert, as well as renowned Chinese artists such as Yuan Shun, Zhang Wenxin, Shi Yong and Xiao Quan. The lineup spanned multiple fields including painting, video and installation.
A series of supporting events were held during the exhibition, including the international forum "Happiness and Business", artist dialogues, exclusive corporate guided tours and youth creative salons. These events gathered political and business leaders, artists, scholars and entrepreneurs from China and Germany, building a cross-field, cross-cultural and cross-industry platform for ideological exchange, and empowering the long-term Sino-German economic and cultural cooperation mechanism in the Greater Bay Area.
As an important bridge for Sino-German cultural exchanges, InterCulture has always been committed to promoting the two-way in-depth integration of China and Germany in economy, trade, culture and creative industries with art as a link, helping Chinese culture and Chinese brands move towards the world stage.
